Jo Malone London | Frosted Cherry And Clove Candle

I have been put off visiting places, where English isn’t the first language. After visiting Denmark yesterday it changed my view, on visiting other countries. It was the first time traveling on my own, to a country where English isn’t the first language. I was feeling nervous about traveling, to a country non-English speaking country on my own. I kept thinking do I point at things, if I need anything ? Or what do I do ? I got the tram from the Copenhagen airport into the city. I saw the word “fart” I laughed and took a photo with my phone. The guy opposite said “that’s a good photo”. I said oh I was taking a photo of the word fart, as it means different in English. I was shocked how clear his English was. I replied “where are you from ?”. He replied “Denmark and where are you from ?” I replied “Scotland”. He said “oh wow you don’t sound Scottish”. I just laughed, as I didn’t think he was Danish. I would say about 80% of Danish, speak in English. The only time I was spoken to in Danish, was in Sephora. The worker started speaking and I knew it wasn’t English. I was about to say “sorry I don’t speak Danish”. I said the word “sorry” and she soon jumped and quickly said “hi is there anything you’d like help with ?. I was impressed how quickly, she managed to change language. It was nice seeing, Nyhavn and The Little Mermaid Statue. Danish people are the friendliest people, I have came across and willing to speak English. I felt like I was in my home country (Scotland), with everyone speaking English. The only down side with Denmark, it’s the home of LEGO and there was no LEGO products with “Copenhagen” on it. The London LEGO Store had t shirts and other things with “London Leicester Square”.

So number 6 of the Jo Malone Advent Calendar, is Frosted Cherry and Clove candle. My first Jo Malone candle was the Pine And Eucalyptus. They are expensive, so I put off buying it at first. As they are expensive, I would only buy myself another for a special occasion. As I treated myself to the Advent Calendar, I’ll be getting to try a few over December. The second I pulled out the drawer of number, I knew it was a candle. I could smell the cherry. I lit it up for a photo, but you can smell the candle with or without lightening it. It has that winter smell, which makes it even more Christmas - y.

Jo Malone London | English Pear And Freesia Cologne

Am guilty to judge things by how catchy they sound or if it looks nice. Number 4 of the Jo Malone Advent Calendar is English Pear and Freesia. Reading the words “English Pear”, it wouldn’t be something I would go to pick up in a shop. It’s not how I imagined the smell. It smells fresh and not too powering. It’s really light scented, compared to some of the Jo Malone scents I’ve tried. It could quite possible be one of my favourite Jo Malone scents. It’s just a shame the wording doesn’t sound catchy for me to remember it.

Jo Malone London Advent Calendar

I love reading the media’s list of top beauty advent calendar for each year, but I do get caught up feeling like I need one. I bought the 2015 Jo Malone advent calendar, so the last couple years I bought different beauty advent calendars. I ended up with a load of mini lipsticks and eyeshadows. The mini makeup you get in beauty advent calendars come handy for traveling, but I don’t go through that much makeup. With Jo Malone, it’s all about smelly things. You can never go wrong with perfume. The second I heard Jo Malone was bringing out an advent calendar, I knew I wanted to buy one. I did grudge the price at £300, however I haven’t treated myself in a while.

The advent calendar arrived the other day in the post and I couldn't wait to take it out the box, to have a look. I have seen so many reviews on them across the internet, but I plan to do it the traditional way. I plan to open one each day in December and share my review on each product. I will be going away in December, but I’ll try my best to stick to my plan.

Glossier Priming Moisturizer

I picked up the Glossier priming moisturizer, at the Glossier Showroom in New York last year. I realised I hadn't used any of my Glossier products, so I took them on my travels to Australia. I actually thought the dry perfume would be perfect for the long travel, so I ordered that on the Glossier website before heading. It was nice having a perfume after being stuck on a plane, but I got stopped at every airport airport because of it haha.

So my thoughts on the Glossier priming moisturizer ? I used Glossier priming moisturizer, before putting on my makeup. The first few times I squeezed a small amount on the back of my hand and put it on face. I was using far too much. It felt like I was wearing a face mask. You couldn't say my face wasn't mouistorised haha. It wasn't too bad with the Australian heat, I waited around 5 mins for it to dry. Then I was able to apply my makeup.

I had a couple morning flights in Australia and didn't want to apply makeup and apply makeup again when I landed. So I just applied the Glossier priming moisturizer before heading to the airport.  Sometimes I feel I don't feel good without makeup. Just applying the Glossier priming moisturizer my skin looked better. I used it over 3 weeks and there's more than half the tube left. I honestly thought £18 was quite expensive for it, but after using it am glad I bought it.

MAC Snow Ball

Everyone tells me I spend too much on makeup, but believe it or not I do try save money. MAC is expensive, so I tend to buy it at duty free or in America, unless it's a limited edition I buy on MAC website as they sell out fast. MAC have just released a limited edition Christmas collection called, Snow Ball. Can you believe the lipsticks and eyeshadows are already sold out on the website ?. I planned to get 1 lipstick from the collection, but you know I failed. I ended up getting 2 lipsticks and 2 eyeshadows. There was also 10% off, 4% Quidco cash back and I used the gift card.

So here I introduce you my lipsticks and eyeshadows I picked.

Lipstick :

Warm Ice
Holiday Crush

Eyeshadow :

Delicate Drift
Starry Nights

I love the gold and shimmery design, different from the classic black. The lipsticks were hard to choose from, so I picked holiday crush and warm ice. Both lipsticks are nude colours which I like, nothing to dramatic. The eyeshadow is designed in a snowflake, you don't actually want to use it as it's so pretty the design.

The person who gave the gift card will see this, as they are known to read my blog.

Soap and Glory The Ultimelt

New York really is the City that never sleeps. When I go to the City, I try to make the most of it. I was out till 3am and am guilty to say, I was too tired to even wash my makeup of my face. I was getting up at 6am, to get out and see that City again. If you'd even call that sleep.

I knew I had to sort my skin out. I've been using the Soap and Glory Ultimelt. It comes with a cloth, but who follows instructions ?. I've been using it like a face wash. My skin feels so much better and the smell is really nice.

It's £10 from Boots (buy it when it's 3 for 2 and save money) Boots do a lot of offers on Soap and Glory, either 3 for 2 or a third off.
