Black Friday Shopping Haul

Black Friday is a good time to shop, if you’re planning on buying new things. Although saying that you can buy something and it could be cheaper other times of the year, exactly what happened to me. Some major shops have a percentage of everything. I have been looking for a jacket to wear, traveling to a few places around Europe. I’ll be heading next week, so it will be cold. I bought UGG boots in Australia and I haven’t worn them yet, so I’ll make use of them and wear my UGG boots for the first time next week.

I came across a puffa jacket on Hollister website a few days before Black Friday, at £89. Hollister always have a sale on everything on Black Friday and Boxing Day, so I held off buying it. I checked the website on Black Friday and everything was 25% off. The jacket was £89, down to £66.75. I quickly bought it. Then on Cyber Monday I saw an advert on Facebook, all Hollister jackets is on sale. I was curious what the Cyber Monday price was, so I clicked the website. The jacket I ordered, was on the Hollister home page. It was reduced to £42.72. Mine hadn’t even arrived yet and it was £24 cheaper. I cancelled the order, I done on Black Friday and reordered the jacket on Cyber Monday. It worked out in the end, as I got the jacket slightly more than half price.

Every Black Friday (weekend) Glossier had 20% off everything on their website. I can’t recommend enough Glossier enough. I visited the Glossier Showroom in New York and bought a few products to to try. I am guilty to say I own most of the skin care and makeup range. I’ve always wanted the “Glossier sweatshirt” but held off buying it, as I thought £50 seemed expensive for what it was. I basically live in jumpers and leggings, where as the Glossier top looks like a top you’d get away with wearing in the summer here. When I got the email Glossier was doing 20% off all weekend, I knew I was going to buy it. £40 seemed a better deal. I also had £30 credit on my Glossier account, so I decided to buy 2 of the new matte lipsticks and the mascara. If you’ve never bought from Glossier, then you won’t understand the pink zip bag. I must have about 8 now haha.

Things I bought :

Hollister
puffa jacket

Glossier
Sweatshirt
Generation G Matte lipstick : Cake, Like

Glossier Priming Moisturizer

I picked up the Glossier priming moisturizer, at the Glossier Showroom in New York last year. I realised I hadn't used any of my Glossier products, so I took them on my travels to Australia. I actually thought the dry perfume would be perfect for the long travel, so I ordered that on the Glossier website before heading. It was nice having a perfume after being stuck on a plane, but I got stopped at every airport airport because of it haha.

So my thoughts on the Glossier priming moisturizer ? I used Glossier priming moisturizer, before putting on my makeup. The first few times I squeezed a small amount on the back of my hand and put it on face. I was using far too much. It felt like I was wearing a face mask. You couldn't say my face wasn't mouistorised haha. It wasn't too bad with the Australian heat, I waited around 5 mins for it to dry. Then I was able to apply my makeup.

I had a couple morning flights in Australia and didn't want to apply makeup and apply makeup again when I landed. So I just applied the Glossier priming moisturizer before heading to the airport.  Sometimes I feel I don't feel good without makeup. Just applying the Glossier priming moisturizer my skin looked better. I used it over 3 weeks and there's more than half the tube left. I honestly thought £18 was quite expensive for it, but after using it am glad I bought it.

Glossier Showroom

Glossier Showroom was top of my list of things to visit, on my trip to New York. People would ask what I wanted to see this time and I'd reply, Glossier Showroom. There's so much hype about it online, but no one I mentioned Glossier Showroom to had even heard of it.

Glossier is a skin care and makeup brand, started up by Emily Weiss. Before Glossier Emily Weiss founded the beauty blog - In To The Gloss. Glossier have opened a Showroom in New York. The Showroom is the only place you can buy Glossier products for now, besides the Glossier website. At first when I read Showroom I thought it was by invite only. I read about the Showroom online and sounded different, so I knew my next trip to New York I had to stop by.

As you all know I was over in New York, so I definitely didn't let Glossier Showroom go a miss. I headed down to Soho, to Lafayette Street where Glossier Showroom is. I remember turning the corner and spotting the banner going down the building "Glossier" and feeling that excitement. I'd waited so long on this.

I was greeted by a girl asking if I was there to see the Showroom and directed me. I headed for the lift to the fourth floor (the penthouse).

The lift opened walking into the Showroom. I spotted the famous instagram shots people had taken and it was exactly how I imagined. I took a walk around and the workers were so chilled out. People were taking photos and videoing. I absolutely hate going in shops and the workers are constantly coming up behind you asking if you are finding everything, when you are just looking. There was a worker who stood back and staff at the tills, at the back of the Showroom. It was actually nice getting to look around, seeing what Glossier had and no one bothering you.

I then headed and picked up an order form, from the corner of the room. There was too many nice things to choose from. I said to myself I'd only buy two or three things. I ended up walking back around the Showroom and putting a cross beside all the things I thought I'd like. Sometimes it's ok to spend money, it's not like I can just go to Glossier Showroom everyday. When I went to pay, it came to $125.

Glossier Showroom is worth a visit, if you're in New York. I love that Glossier Showroom is photo and Instagram friendly. In the modern world, everyone is taking photos and it's free advertising for Glossier - so it's a win win for Glossier.  I'll be doing a Glossier haul, showing you what I bought. I can't even remember all the things I picked myself, so it will be fun to see what I picked.
