1 Day Itinerary | York

I haven’t traveled to many places in the UK, as it’s so expensive. You’re just as cheap, to fly abroad. I once looked to stay a few nights in London, it was only a couple hundred extra to go to New York. When my friend asked me to visit her city York, it gave me a reason to go to York. I looked up train prices and every website was showing between £53-£63. I found Lner have a sign up when new dates are on the website, so I signed up. I got an email for train tickets 3 months later, when they became available. There was prices £39 return, so I booked and quickly messaged my friend and said I hope you’re free that day as I’ve just booked. Lucky she was free that day haha. Jasmine asked what places I’d like to see, so I started Googling “York”. The places that sounded interesting I found was, The Shambles, The Walls and Roly’s Fudge.

The train left Edinburgh at 9am and arrived in York at just after half 11am. Jasmine met me at the train station. She was my tour guide for the day, as it was my first time visiting York.

First we walked down to York Mister. Then headed towards The shambles. I spotted York Chocolate Story, so I had to stop and buy chocolate. There was soo many little unique streets in York. We walked down The Shambles and the second you came in line with Roly’s Fudge, you could smell the fridge. I headed and bought some fudge. Even Jasmine acted like a tourist and bought some fudge.

Then we stopped at Yo Sushi for lunch. I picked one of the sushi’s from the bar,. Then I ordered fries, vegetable gyoza and katsu curry.

Then we walked part of The Walls. The Walls is abit like The High Line, in New York. You could see views of The York Minster from The Walls.

We walked to St Mary’s Abby, where Jasmine showed me where she stood for her wedding day photo. This is my version of Jasmine’s wedding day pose. (Minus my husband haha)

Lastly we headed to The York Roast to try the Yorkshire wrap. I mean I had to get a Yorkshire wrap, since I was in York.

Then it was time to head back for the train. Thanks to my tour guide and photographer Jasmine, for showing me around York.
